About

Small Wonders is not a traditional photo studio.

We specialize in family and wedding portraiture with a unique, photojournalistic style. Our goal is to tell people’s stories with beautiful, artistic photography that will be cherished for generations.

Kids and Families

…and the inspiration for Small Wonders

Our philosophy when photographing children is to let kids be kids. Whether on-location, or in our studio at the Bucktown Center for the Arts, we strive to capture the essence and personality of the child.

“Our time with our kids when they are small is so precious, and preserving those moments is so important,” says photographer Quinn Kirkpatrick. “It wasn’t until the first few seconds of my own child’s life that I truly understood the wonder and beauty that is a child. I want people to feel that wonder every time they look at a Small Wonders photograph. I want them to be taken back to a special place, a perfect moment in time.”

Maternity

Before it’s all about the baby, it’s all about the mother. Small Wonders creates lovely belly images for beautiful moms-to-be. And we believe all moms-to-be are beautiful!

Weddings

Small Wonders tells wedding stories with beauty and grace, capturing every detail: a veil caught in the wind; the newly married couple’s hands clasped together; the tear in a proud father’s eye. We will work closely with you to give you stunning images of your special day in an unposed, natural way, as your story unfolds. Our ultimate goal? To bring your wedding day to life again and again with heirloom quality images.

Seniors

Small Wonders’ approach to photography of high school seniors is “less is more.” In an era of highly stylized senior photography, we feel that natural lighting and casual settings create timeless photos that redefine “cool.”
